DCRS were delighted to donate a number of Motorola hand portable two-way radios to the Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue this week to assist them when they are out on Emergency Call Outs.

Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue are made up 100% of dedicated fully trained volunteers and receive no government funding, relying entirely on one-off grants and individual donations, so DCRS did not hesitate in making this donation.

The Team work alongside the Police in the search for vulnerable missing people: a child, an elderly person suffering from dementia or even someone who is considering taking their life so their call outs can catapult them into a multitude of environments where the team is separated but still need to communicate with each other and report back throughout a search .

Gavin Bailey, DCRS Commented, “Having a reliable form of communication is imperative for a team of this nature and DCRS were more than happy to help Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue to ensure they had the right tools for their job.
