Wentworth Woodhouse Radio Communications

Why the Kirisun DP405 VHF radio was the right solution for a grand stately home

Wentworth Woodhouse (A.K.A Yorkshire’s Hidden Gem) is a grand stately home in Yorkshire. It features a facade which is a whopping 606 feet (the longest of any country house based in the UK), 50 acres of private gardens and attracts 63,000 visitors a year!

Before seeking the help of DCRS, Wentworth Woodhouse was using Hytera licence-free radios. However, the Hytera licence-free radios weren’t giving them enough coverage for their 80-acre site, resulting in missed communications. Therefore, they were looking for a solution that would provide them with sufficient site-wide coverage, the flexibility of other channels and the ability to bolt on hire radios as and when needed.

Before DCRS provided them with the Kirisun DP405 VHF, they considered the Hytera PD705. However, after a discussion with our Sales Advisor, Hannah, Wentworth Woodhouse decided to opt for the trusted, low-cost, durable Kirisun DP405 two-way radio.

After the purchase, DCRS spoke with Ian Taylor, Logistics & Infrastructure Manager at Wentworth Woodhouse, who went on to supply us with the following feedback:

“The installation provided by DCRS was quick and easy. They provided us with good, solid radios that are easy to use, and the whole team prefer them over the licence-free Hytera radios. Every team member uses a radio and callsign for communications, and they never have to resort to using their mobile phones to speak to colleagues. This solution has provided us with better coverage and improved communication amongst our staff; the audio quality is excellent.”

When asked if Ian had any advice for other organisations considering the Kirisun DP405, he responded:

“None, go for it!”
