Moulsham High School in Chelmsford, Essex is buzzing with life as it educates over 1,500 students and houses numerous staff. Deviating from the norm of co-education at the KS3 level the school has initiated separate learning for boys and girls while still strongly encouraging them to mix socially on both sides.
Unsurprisingly, with such a large number of pupils on campus, it’s imperative that reliable communication systems are set up for teachers so they can effectively monitor movements across the school grounds. DCRS managed to find the perfect solution, which highly increased the safety of everyone that is part of this school.
The school has previously implemented an analogue two-way radio system, which did not meet the team’s expectations. The coverage it provided was patchy and unreliable, which made personnel miss many important messages on a daily basis. To make sure that staff were protected throughout their working day, Matt Kimber from Moulsham High School’s health and safety department turned to DCRS for the Motorola Solutions – MOTOTRBO™ Range. After considering the communication challenges Moulsham High School had to deal with, DCRS quickly began looking for ways to solve them.
