Radio Communication Engineer (Bench and Field Maintenance/Installation)
Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
DCRS have been a leading independent provider of radio communications equipment & applications for over 30 years. We offer services Nationwide supporting a variety of systems into a large number of market sectors.
We work with all major radio manufacturers such as Motorola Solutions, Hytera, Icom, Kenwood, Kirisun and VoCoVo.
We are currently looking for an experienced Radio Engineer with knowledge in Digital Radio Communications Equipment.
Experience with Systems and Distributed Antenna Networking is advantageous (training will be given). DCRS work with major manufacturers and application partners that all offer training and will enable you to enhance your skill set.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bench engineering: repair and rectify faults.
- Install, test, and commission on-site radio systems.
- Trace and rectify faults in radio systems on-site.
- Travel to customer premises and participate in call-out rota.
- Provide telephone and remote PC support for clients.
- Liaise with clients, manufacturers, and third-party suppliers.
- Conduct technical administration and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Digital Radio Communications Equipment, especially DMR systems (Motorola Solutions, Hytera).
- Strong knowledge of Linux, IP, TCP/IP, networking, and command line.
- Professional conduct in office and customer site settings.
- Ability to produce clear reports.
- Comfortable working at height and traveling for work.
- Must pass police/local authority vetting (enhanced DBS check may apply).
- Valid UK driving license.
