DCRS – Working in the community

This month DCRS worked with the Magpas Air Ambulance. Magpas are a charity which brings essential lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond.

DCRS made the donation of business two-way radio communications equipment for their annual KAPOW! Event held at St Ives Golf Club which was transformed into a 5k inflatable assault course; packed full of foam and unique obstacles to bounce over, squeeze through, and slip and slide on.

The radios ensured all the MAGPAS team stayed in contact for the duration of the event, keeping everyone safe throughout.

SOLAS Compliance

For ships constructed on or after 1 July 2014, a minimum of two two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire party for firefighter’s communication shall be carried on board. Those two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus shall be of an explosion-proof type or intrinsically safe. Ships constructed before 1 July 2014 shall comply with the requirements of this paragraph not later than the first survey after 1 July 2018.
