Have you heard about ARTS ( Auto Range Transpond System)

Exclusively available in Vertex Standard radios, ARTS is a dealer-activated feature that is programmable by channel. It permits radios operating on the same frequency to monitor each other’s range in pre-programmed intervals. There is no limit to the number of radios that can operate together and it also works through a repeater system.

Using ARTS-equipped radios, field response teams who are called out to complete remote search and rescue operations are equipped to maintain contact with base operations. With ARTS activated, field teams will be alerted when they are out of range from base. The radio will transmit a triple beep to indicate when a unit is out of range and then beep when the team re-coordinates within range to help maintain contact with base operations at all times.

Individuals who are working remotely and need to remain in contact with base operations can activate ARTS on their radio to be notified when out of communication range, making it easier and more efficient for remote workers to remain in contact.

VX-2100/2200 Mobiles Make their Mark
Meeting the demand for affordable, reliable business communications that can be used in a wide variety of applications is a two-way street with Vertex Standard’s VX-2100/ 2200 series of mobile radios. These full-featured FM transceivers are specifically designed for flexible mobile business communications in the VHF or UHF LMR bands.

With a wide range of operating capability provided by their progressive design and high output power of some 25W, the VX-2100/2200 series provides reliability, extensive signaling features and enhanced channel capacity for maximum return on investment.

The series offers ultra-wide band coverage (VHF 134-174 MHz / UHF 400-470 MHz) and broad channel capacity. The workhorse VX-2100 has 8 channels for ease of operation while the VX-2200, with its 128 channels, 16 group option and eight character alphanumeric display, is ideal for larger systems.
As usual, Vertex Standard has pulled out all stops by providing sought-after functionality which is typically only found in more expensive radios. Take, for example, the signaling features. Besides the standard CTCSS and DCS sub-audible signaling, the VX-2100 and VX-2200 mobiles also offer 2-tone encode and decode, DTMF ANI and 5-tone encode and decode.

With the built-in Emergency feature, a silent alarm can be sent and live audio can be transmitted to the dispatcher. This is ideal for buses, taxis, delivery vans or any other application where drivers are vulnerable. And for noisy environments, a loud, front-facing speaker with 4 Watts of audio power gives plenty of receiver audio.

One would expect these radios - with their sophisticated technology - to be relatively fragile, but the VX-2100/2200 series’ circuitry is protected by a die-cast aluminium enclosure, which also doubles as a heat sink. This extraordinarily durable construction ensures many years of reliable operation, even in high vibration installations. In fact, this ultra-rugged design enables the series to be fully compliant with the exacting specifications of MIL 810 C/D/E/F for shock, vibration, high and low temperature and dust, ensuring its ability to perform in rigorous work environments.

In addition, the radios feature Vertex Standard’s Auto-Range Transpond System (ARTS) which permits two radios operating on the same frequency to monitor each other’s range in pre-programmed intervals.
And with many other available options including DTMF decode paging, inversion scrambling, encryption and accessories such as DTMF and desktop microphones, the VX-2100/ 2200 series is nothing short of a tour de force – a welcome and affordable communications solution for workforces across a broad spectrum of industry.
