DCRS work with Loddon Holdings to control and meet The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) that came into force 2 January 2007. The WEEE Directive aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this by making producers responsible for financing the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment, and by obliging distributors to allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
As the majority of equipment supplied by DCRS requires batteries DCRS offers the service of safe disposal of batteries under The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations to anyone who we well two way radios too. DCRS will dispose of the batteries through an approved company for the disposal and recycling of batteries at no charge.
